Instructions
  1. Cook turkey mixture in a large skillet on medium heat, breaking up turkey into small pieces, cook until no longer pink.
  2. Drain off any fat.
  3. Add cooked meat and all other above ingredients to slow cooker, (diced tomatoes – add undrained).
  4. Add water for desired consistency.
  5. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

Phase 4

  • try adding 1 yellow onion, diced to turkey in skillet in step 1
  • try adding 2 tablespoons of tomato paste in the crock pot.

Here is the nutritional info for 1 tbsp of tomato  paste, times this by 2 and you can see why it is no longer included in the recipe for phase one, especially since it already has 2 cups of tomatoes.
