Cinco de Mayo survival plan for Ideal Protein!

Hola amigos!

Looking for healthy dinner options for Cinco de Mayo while on the Ideal Protein weight loss program?  Look no further!

Losing weight and eating healthy doesn’t have to bland or boring, especially on a holiday!  Putting some thought into your dinners and meal planning during Phase 1 establishes a healthy habit that will continue well into maintenance.

These healthy habits will benefit everyone.  Teaching kids at a young age to eat healthy foods may prevent them from struggling with their own weight as adults. Nothing is more important to me than providing healthy meals for my kids.  Believe me, I am far from perfect, sometimes I even have to disguise healthy food.  Try using different add-ons or sides, but the core of the meal should always be protein based.

Each of these recipes will keep you on track, and satisfy all the food critics (both big and small) that sit at your kitchen table.

One Pot Paleo Mexican Chicken Stir Fry

Quick, easy and healthy Mexican Chicken Stir Fry is full of protein and fresh veggies! I would change this recipe by adding the spices to the chicken instead of the veggies. Cook until chicken is done, remove chicken and add red peppers and broccoli.  I would also use low sodium chicken broth instead of the water to steam the broccoli. Serve in a in a lettuce cup for some added crunch. For phase 4 & the tiny food critics disguise this healthy recipe in a tortilla taco boats with a little cheese and sour cream.

I hate doing dishes, so this recipe is perfect! Make sure you buy the de-veined and de-shelled shrimp because no one has time to deal with that between work and kids. I made this mistake once and only once! Remember on phase one to omit the onion before cooking.  Eat these on the cauliflower tortillas or a lettuce wrap.  For phase 4 or the tiny food critics disguise this healthy recipe in a tortilla taco boats with a little cheese, avocado and sour cream.

This recipe is as good as it looks, but will leave you a little short on your recommended two cups of veggies at dinner time.  To keep with the Mexican theme use the MEXICAN CAULIFLOWER RICE recipe listed below to make up the difference.
